LICENSE TYPES AND CONDITIONS

TLex Suite 4 includes TLex (TshwaneLex), tlTerm and tlReader. tlTerm may be purchased separately as the "standalone" edition. Commercial/Government Licenses include 12 (twelve) months of telephone/e-mail support, or may be purchased at a cheaper price with no bundled support (see below). For endangered-language use, you may choose the low-cost Academic License option.

If you are interested in other services, such as data conversion, custom development, or online or electronic publication, please contact us.

A license is required for each user. Licenses do not expire. Licenses may be transferred between users (except Personal Licenses). Under limited conditions a single license may be installed on both a desktop and laptop system (strictly provided that it will be the same user using both systems).

Academic Licenses:
- No unpaid support included.
- You may not commercially publish dictionaries produced with the academic version (i.e. generate income from them).
- Academic Licenses are for use within academic institutions such as universities for teaching or research.
- Note that government organisations do not typically qualify for Academic License pricing.

Personal Licenses: Personal Licenses may be used for commercial work (e.g. dictionary publication, freelance lexicography, or translation), but:
- No unpaid support included.
- Personal Licenses are non-transferable; a Personal License may only be used by the individual who purchased it.
- Personal Licenses may only be purchased by individuals, and not by registered entities such as companies or non-profit organisations.

Endangered-Language Licenses: Anybody doing work on formally endangered languages (not merely 'minority' languages) qualifies for Academic pricing, but with no publishing restrictions. No unpaid support included. You must specify in the 'comments' below which language you are working on, and motivate that the language(s) is/are endangered.

Support Packs: Please note that support packs cover resolution of queries and problems relating to TLex/tlTerm, but not new features, customisations, or general IT support (e.g. virus removal troubleshooting).
