LICENSE TYPES AND CONDITIONS
If you are interested in other services, such as data conversion, custom development, or online or electronic publication, please
contact us.
[TLex Suite, tlTerm, tlDatabase, Electronic Dictionaries] GENERAL CONDITIONS
A license is required for each user. Licenses do not expire. Licenses may be transferred between users (except Personal Licenses). A single license may be installed on both a desktop and laptop system, on condition that the same user will be using both systems. You may re-download and re-activate your software if, for example, you replace your computer with a new one. By default up to 6 activations per license are allowed to cater for these situations. Licenses may be transferred from a Mac system to a Windows system and vice versa.
[TLex Suite, tlTerm, tlDatabase] SUPPORT PACKS
Please note that support packs cover resolution of queries and problems relating to TLex, tlTerm or tlDatabase, but
not new features, customisations, or general IT support (e.g. virus removal troubleshooting); for these, or for alternate support arrangements, please
contact us.
[tlTerm, tlDatabase]
• There is currently only one license model for these.
• Regretfully, no unpaid support is included (please select 'Support Pack - Basic' or higher if you expect to have a few questions).
[TLex Suite]
TLex Suite 4 includes
TLex (TshwaneLex),
tlTerm and
tlReader (tlTerm may be purchased separately as the "standalone" edition). TLex Suite is sold under the following four licensing models:
1. Commercial/Government Licenses:
Commercial/Government Licenses optionally include 12 (twelve) months of telephone/e-mail support, or may be purchased at a cheaper price with no bundled support (see prices in table below).
2. Academic Licenses:
• You may not commercially publish dictionaries produced with the academic version (i.e. generate income from them).
• Academic Licenses are for use within academic institutions such as universities for teaching or research.
• Note that government organisations do not typically qualify for Academic License pricing.
• Regretfully, no unpaid support is included (please select 'Support Pack - Basic' or higher if you expect to have a few questions).
3. Personal Licenses:
Personal Licenses may be used for commercial work (e.g. dictionary publication, freelance lexicography, or translation) by freelancers or individuals, but:
• Personal Licenses may only be purchased by ('invoiced to') individuals, and not by registered entities such as companies or non-profits.
• Personal Licenses may not be transferred to registered entities such as companies or non-profits.
• Regretfully, no unpaid support is included (please select 'Support Pack - Basic' or higher if you expect to have a few questions).
4. Endangered-Language Licenses:
Anybody doing work on formally endangered languages (not merely 'minority' languages) qualifies for Academic pricing. Unlike the Academic License, however, there are
no publishing restrictions. To qualify, just
let us know which language(s) you will be working on, and motivate their endangered status. If unsure, please contact us.
• Regretfully, no unpaid support is included (please select 'Support Pack - Basic' or higher if you expect to have a few questions).
